Amazing ... It used to be an issue awhile ago, when my room didn't like the latest Java. And like you I installed a previous version.

I am thinking about something... When you had a latest version of Java installed are you sure you deleted traces of the previous versions??? May be there was a conflict there going on.

Just a thought. I remember Greg here on the Forum, told me to make Java work properly one must remove the traces of the other versions installed.

OK... now I see what's going on... I thought the latest Java version was 6 -up. 33 .. I guess I was behind the time. . but now I realized that the latest is actually 7 - u.5. Now I am having a biggest issue too. I can not access my own chat room. I will follow Greg's directions and see if it works ... Very frustrating... :(

It worked for me Thanks

Hey Greg... I am so darn superstitious that I am almost afraid to say that I finally got in my room. Pheww ... I was behind time thinking that the latest Java version was 6 update 33. I was so wrong!!!!!!! I got the same problem as the guys who posted here - could not get into my room!! Grrr.... I followed your directions on Firefox... and Hallelujah! I am in. Have to keep my fingers crossed. :)

Hello,

If a member has installed the latest java (7 update 5) ask them to try the following.

Close all browsers and then try the following;
1. Open your computers control panel.
2. Double click the java coffee cup.
3. Click the "Settings" button.
4. Click the "Delete Files" button.
5. Check ALL things to be deleted including "Installed Applications and Applets".
6. Click "OK"

Once this has been done open browser and see if it works.

Greg, it solved a problem yesterday, but I had the same problem today - no access to the room again Oy, do I have to perform this procedure every day? Or is there another , more permanent solution? Seems like a newest Java has screwed us up big time. :( Very frustrating!

It seems to do the trick quite well for IE but FireFox users are saying they are having problems. Have you tried clearing the temp files in your FF browser?

I followed your steps, and it worked. In addition I regularly run CCleaner to clear temp. files.

I still have members of my community who are unable to use the chat. They've upgraded java, they've followed the instructions, they can't get it to load. They've had to go back to old java to make it work. And now someone who has old java is having issues. I really need an answer. I'll log a ticket.

Wow, this seems to be a real serious problem. I sympathize with you all guys who still has issues with Java. This sucks. A day or so ago one of my chatters who has MAC said she could not get in. I gave her these steps Greg posted here, and she followed. WE were lucky. She entered the room.
