I currently use addon chat with xenforo and tried the same code for the chat that i use on xenforo it shows the chat fine the only thing i cant get to work on social engine is the username instead of showing the correct username it will just show the user as $visitor.username is there any work around for this?

Hi,

If you mean being able to login with your facebook account and the chat recognize from that I'm afraid that would not be possible using the same parameter. Only one username parameter can be used at a time with the chat. The one in the code is solely for registered members of your forum.

If I misunderstood your query please clarify.

I am planning on moving to social engine so would like to be able to login to chat with my social engine username like i do on xenforo i have tried searching for the social engine username parameter here is a link to the software i want to use my chat with http://www.socialengine.net/

OK, I now understand that "socialengine" is a software.
We do not currently have an integration for that software. That's pretty much what I did to get the parameter from XenForo.
If you contact support at their site maybe they can tell you what triggers a user name from their site.
